About Toshima

1596 (First year of the Keicho era)

The first-generation Toshimaya Juemon starts a business as a liquor store and drinking bar on the Kamakura Riverside in Kanda, Edo. At the same time, he started brewing baijiu.

In the early Showa era, Toshimaya Sake Brewery was established in the current location of Kumegawa, Higashimurayama Village, Kitatama District, Tokyo (currently Kumegawa-cho, Higashimurayama City, Tokyo), and is a long-established brewery that brews and sells sake under the "Kinkon" and "Kinkon Masamune" brands.

It is brewed at Toshimaya Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. (Higashimurayama City, Tokyo), an affiliated company of the company.

This is the only sake offered as sacred sake to all three major shrines in Tokyo: Meiji Shrine, Kanda Myojin Shrine, and Sanno Hie Shrine.

The main brands are "Daiginjo Kinkon," "Daiginjo Biennen," "Junmai Daiginjo Ginkon," "Junmai Daiginjo Gin no Mai," and "Junmai Daiginjo Gin no Mai." They include unfiltered unprocessed sake Juemon, special pure rice sake Kokoro, slightly sparkling pure rice light cloudy raw sake Aya, and regionally limited sake such as Kandabashi and Haneda.

It has received numerous gold awards at the National New Sake Awards (Daiginjo won the gold award at the National New Sake Awards in 2009), and is solidifying its position as the ``local sake of Edo-Tokyo.'' .
