"Sunakiriko," an Evolved Form of Edo Kiriko | Sakura-Patterned Sake Glass & Tray Set
The glass bottom is finished flat using the "Hirakirikko" (flat-surface grinding) technique, ensuring stability. Furthermore, by combining this with a world-class sandblasting technique capable of engraving lines as fine as 0.09mm, which is rare even in Japan, an entirely new Edo Kiriko, "Sunakiriko," was born. The sides feature the Hirakirikko technique, and the bottom sandblasted, allowing it to utilize the reflection of light, creating a unique beauty.
◇ As Sake Flows In, the Cherry Blossoms Awaken in Full Bloom
Once filled with sake, the pattern engraved on the bottom of the glass reflects onto the sides, revealing a beautiful cherry blossom landscape—a magical feature unique to Shiina Kiriko!
This piece uses a dual-layered cased glass, with a pink-colored glass known as "Kin'aka" (gold red) overlaid on a light blue base. We use custom-ordered "Irokise Glass" (colored cased glass), often used in Edo Kiriko, to express the scene of cherry blossoms in full bloom. The color scheme is also perfect for milestone and seasonal gifts.

The coaster is made by bonding two layers of material together. The edges are rounded to easily lift with your fingertips. It can be used in a variety of settings—from cold beverages in glasses to hot tea served in yunomi (teacups with footed bases). Finished with a urethane coating, it is washable with standard neutral dish detergent.
